| Madagascar,
the fourth largest Island in the world, is situated in the south-western
part of Indian Ocean, having an area of 627,000 square km and
population of 20 million. |

| At
the invitation of President of Madagascar, Marc Ravalomanana the
delegation consisting of 10 members led by Dr. Hui Chi Ming ,Chairman
of Sino Union Petroleum and Chemical International Limited successfully
visited the country during 6th July to 12th July, 2004. President
Marc Ravalomanana expressed that he highly appreciated the exchange
of views and co-operation with various sectors in China and Hong
Kong. He informed that he would fully support the business sectors
from China and Hong Kong investing in Madagascar by providing
preferential policies. He showed admiration to the members who
had invested in Madagascar. Dr. Hui Chi Ming introduced to him
the general situation of the investments in Madagascar of the
members of the Association, and hoped that President Marc Ravalomanana
would continue to pay due attention and give support to those
investments. During the visit, Dr. Hui Chi Ming together with
his delegates, representatives from enterprises owned by the members
held a meeting with the members of General Chamber of Commerce
of Madagascar, businessmen and financier there to exchange information
and discuss the co-operation of business in petrochhemical projects,
finance, hotels and tourism. Certain letter of intents and agreements
were signed. |

a ceremony of Doctorate and Medal conferment held by Russian Academy
of Sciences at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hong Kong on 26th February,
2005, Mr. Hui Chi Ming, Chairman of our Company was awarded Honorary
Doctorate and Gold M. Lomonosov Medal of the Russian Academy of
Sciences. |

| Russian
Academy of Sciences has a history of over 280 years and is an
authority organization of academic research. Their academic research
achievements in many fields of natural science and social science
are ranked in leading position internationally. They have significantly
ever contributed to the development of human society. Dr. Hui
Chi Ming has dedicated his efforts to promote friendship between
China and Russia for many years and organized delegations to explore
and visit Russia many times so that Hong Kong General Association
of International Investment and Russian Association, Russian Chamber
of Commerce such as Russian Enterprises Federation, Russian Enterprises
Association etc have eventually established the co-operation relationship.
As a forerunner promoting the establishment of federation between
chambers of commerce in Hong Kong and Russia, Dr. Hui Chi Ming
has made distinguished contribution to friendly exchange, co-operation
and development of economy, trade and technology between Russia
- Hong Kong and Russia - China. The conferment of the Honorary
Doctorate and Gold M. Lomonosov Medal of the Russian Academy of
Sciences to Dr. Hui by Russian Academy of Sciences was to recognize
his distinguished contribution in this aspect and it was after
strict examination procedure, approval by votes by the presidium
of Academy, and endorsement by the relevant department of the
Union Government of Russia. He is the first entrepreneur in Hong
Kong who has ever obtained such a distinguished honour. |

and awarded the Certificate of Honorary Doctorate and Gold M.
Lomonosov Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences to Dr. Hui

| Dr.
Hui considers that this is the recognition of Russian Government
toward a participant in social activities and private entrepreneur
of China. This is also a commendation of contribution to social
activity in relation to "brilliance occupation of relief
poverty (光彩扶貧事業)". This indicates
the Government's friendly relation with Chinese People and expectation
of promotion of bilateral friendly co-operation. |
